PRN Massage Therapist

 

 

Marathon Health is seeking a PRN Massage Therapist to care for the employees and dependents of Carpenters Union from its on-site employer-sponsored health and wellness center (Carpenters Wellness Center) in St. Louis, MO.

 

You’ll treat individuals and families in a healthcare setting that values quality of care, longer appointment times, and a more relaxed daily rhythm ― all so you can build and grow trusted relationships with your patients and help them reach their wellness goals.

Responsibilities

  • Provide consistent professional massage and body treatments in accordance with clinical protocols and accepted certification practices. Massage treatments may include relaxation, pain management, injury recovery, stress reduction, relief from muscle tension, etc. 
  • Maintain the highest standards of safety, sanitation, and sterilization as directed by policies, procedures, and clinical practices.  
  • Properly prepare workspace including equipment, supplies, products, noise/sounds, and ensure all is clean Maintain a relaxing massage space which may include soft lights, noise/music, and aromasEnsure adequate stock of equipment and supplies are maintained and restocked as needed.  
  • Partner with physician or provider to design customized massage sessions based on client’s individual needs. 
  • Greet patient, ask about symptoms, discuss therapy treatments and goals, and obtain patient consent for massage Collect health history on the patient, update progress or other notes after each session, and document any changes, contradictions, and notes for medical review.  
  • Follow modesty and draping protocols and adhere to code of conduct requirements. 
  • Manipulate muscles, tendons, ligaments, and other soft tissues of the body as per described treatment plans.   
  • Evaluate patients during the massage to locate painful or tense areas of the body and effectiveness of the massage. 
  • Provide guidance on stretching, strengthening, overall relaxation, improving their posture, and general wellness to practice between sessions. 
  • Safeguard patient medical information and confidentiality 
  • Activity seeks continuing education and best practices to improve effectiveness.  
  • Responsible for updating license as directed by profession and state regulatory agencies.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Graduate of a state-approved massage therapy program. 
  • Currently licensed/certified as Massage Therapist in the state of Missouri.
  • Active BLS certification. 
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of massage therapy. 
  • Strong technical expertise using Microsoft Teams and Microsoft 365 including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.
