Overview

The Analytics Consultant will focus on helping the business and our employer partners with strong insight into business results, business opportunities, and analytics outcomes.  They will do this with strong analytics approaches in gathering data to solve problems, developing, analyzing/drawing conclusions, testing solutions and presenting to the client; and enhancing performance by applying data analytics, optimizing analytics techniques, and with strong presentation skills.

 

The Analytics Consultant will hold accountability for retrieving data, visualizing data, and presenting data on a routine basis both internally and externally.  They will leverage their analytics, technical, and client facing skills to help present the comprehensive Marathon Health mission of changing individual and population lives.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand analytics and reporting needs regarding Marathon Health business.
  • Develops reporting to enhance our ability to understand and act upon clinical, financial, and engagement outcomes.
  • Acts as the SME in client reporting and helps improve the efficiency of our reporting and analytics.
  • Helps support the analytics function across the Marathon Health organization.
  • Has solid understanding of core areas of health care data, including traditional claims data, engagement data, clinical medical records data, and other data sources.
  • Assists teams in creating reporting resources and datasets that are well-designed, easily maintained, and repeatable.
  • Produce clear and concise summaries of analytical findings for easy consumption by a variety of audiences throughout Marathon Health.
  • Responsible for internal reporting as well as ad-hoc data queries and proactive analysis to help support our clients and internal teams in effective decision-making.
  • Gathers, manages, and synthesize large amounts of information effectively and creatively.
  • Analyze medical claims data and provide recommendations to drive improvements.
  • Analyze external/internal clinical data and provide recommendations to drive improvements.
  • Ensures reports and presentations are visually appealing.
  • Document process flows and create standard operation procedures for reporting.
  • Ensures consistency in Marathon Health reporting products.
  • Other Duties as Assigned.

Qualifications

  • Understanding of EDW/Datawarehouse Environment
  • Tableau/Data Visualization
  • MS Office Skills including PowerPoint, Excel, Word
  • Preferred Basic SQL/SAS Skills
  • Understanding Large Data Sets
  • Communication to multiple levels of an internal/external organization
  • Strong Healthcare Knowledge
  • Ability to present complex information effectively.
  • Strong data visualization techniques
  • Analytical Thinking – Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis and the ability to determine the root cause of healthcare issue and create alternative solutions that resolve the problems in the best interest of the business.
  • Business Acumen – knowledge of the Marathon Health business and understanding of the business processes to support making optimal decisions.
  • Business Analytics – knowledge of key Marathon technologies including visualization system, warehouse, claims, clinical records and operations, and the ability to synthesize and leverage the data.
  • Consulting – Knowledge of how to effectively consult with internal and external partners.  Helping to effectively listen and communicate highly complex information to many levels.
  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking – Understanding of the issues related to the decision-making process; ability to analyze situations fully and accurately and reach productive decisions.
